Best Life Plan

The world’s platforms are flooded with blueprints to this best life craze.  If friends or family are toxic, cut them off.  If they ain’t on their hustle, let them go.  Experiencing an unfulfilling job, get another one.  Say your affirmations, drink freshly pressed green juice and create that boss vision board.

My best life plan is filled with affirming relationships, enjoyable employment, a red earth-toned brick-walled three-bedroom loft with monstrous windows and a red bottom or two.  This may not be your playlist for a best life, but you have one, sis.  And it’s not just us.  Everyone is striving for this best life

None of the activities I mentioned are faulty, but they can be useless if not initiated by the Holy Spirit.  What we want is not the issue, but how we get it could be problematic.  Our best lives don’t start with worldly wisdom.  Our best lives must be anchored in the Word of God.

You really wanna live your best life?  Keep this best life playlist bumping for the remainder of your life!

Tip 1# Spend daily time with your Daddy

Make spending time with the Father a habit before you start cutting folks off and dranking green juice.  The plan of action towards your best life can only be found in Him.  If you don’t chat it up with Him, you will not know the true desires of your heart.  He promises to give them to you (Psalm 37:4).  But if we don’t spend that time, we don’t know if our desires are authentic or from our broken childhoods or from flat out envy.  Chat it up with Him to see what is real and what is not.  Nothing will sting more than yielding time towards a goal that once achieved, you ain’t feeling at all.  Well, dang!

Tip 2# Seek His Plan

God is a planner.  God is a detailed planner.  He provided meticulous well-thought out strategies to build the ark, to construct Solomon’s Temple and to usher the newly born Jesus to safety when Herod the Great started tripping with the decree to kill all male children aged two and under.  What if Noah had not kept in constant communication with the Father to get the details and just popped off to build the ark on his own with no God-based plan?  That sucker would have sank! Without listening to God’s details, Solomon’s Temple would have crumpled and the entire plan of salvation through Jesus Christ would have been derailed.  We don’t want that for our best lives, now do we?  Jeremiah 29:11 states, “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”  God is on the ultimate, “I got you, boo!”  He has the plan.  His plan for us is prosperous, with no harm.  Spend that time with Him to get details.

Tip #3 – Remember, you are forgiven and covered!

You are doper than you ever know…like right now!  You are a King’s kid, a princess, off top!  Psalm 139:14 confirms, “I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made…”  This was penned by one of the Bible’s most flawed contributors, King David.  David was a whore, a pre-meditating murderer and abuser of authority in the worst way against Uriah.  Even still, God describes him as a “man after mine own heart” (Acts 13:22).  God saw the good in David, and He sees the good in you.  Sis, you must see yourself the way God sees you in order to feel worthy of your best life.  I am not saying we can live any way and God is good with it.  He corrected David, as He corrects us.  But if you have acknowledged your missteps and repented of your sins or even working towards it with the Father, you are good.  You must believe God feels you are worthy of your best life.  You must believe you are wonderfully made in His eyes, and you must be committed to, “being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus (Philippians 1:6 ).”  Primary to walking into our best lives is believing we are worthy.  Sis, you are worthy!

Jesus healed a gang of peeps from blindness, but seldom did it in the same way.  Some he spoke a word, another He instructed to leave his surroundings.  God’s plan for my playlist may be different from yours.  Listen to Him for your individual action-plan.  Silence the plan of the world.

You may need to keep the thrown-off friend and the sucky job.  He may be using you as a catalyst in your friend’s recovery.  That job may be a stepping-stone to your next move.  And regardless of the past you left behind or the present you are working on, you are entitled to your best life in Him.  Trust Him.  Relax now.  Breathe and know.  You are on your way to your best life in Him.
